first of all...
HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR! GONG HEI FATT CHOY! GONG XI FA CHAI!
may the year of ox bring health, wealth and happiness to everyone :)
i remember how wonderful CNY was, many many many years ago.
the times when we celebrate our CNY back in my hometown in Perak every year.
that was the best times of CNY that i had. family togetherness, and good food.
as for the recent years, things were more different.
not going back to hometown. not having Krie around during reunion dinners.
and spending CNY with not only my family, but with the girls, and KinkyBunny.
of course for me, CNY this year is far different from all of those mentioned above.
being far away from home, freezing cold, having classes and no other activities.
and the most crucial one; not being able to celebrate CNY with my family and loved ones.
i never use to like the hot hot weather during CNY. and the noisy and annoying CNY songs.
i never use to believe in CNY's do's and don't like not allowed to wash my hair on the first day.
and i certainly think is ridiculous to not being able to wear anything black for 15 days.
now, being away from home, i'm starting to miss all those; it's not that ridiculous after all.
so, on the first day this year, i set my mood by login on to YouTube and have some noisy CNY songs on.
no washing hair on the first day. and of course, new clothes in RED, for both first and second day.
however, i was not able to avoid black this year because everything that keeps me warm is black in colour.
but to balance it out, i will try my best to not dress myself in full black for 15 days.
yes, i'm pretty traditional and CNY is really important to me! so, i'm trying to keep it perfect.
it all started with a 'home-cook' meal with LittleLulu on CNY Eve.
this meal was simple. steam fish, asam eggs, and veggie; all approved by Mummy.
preparation was quick and simple, and dinner was kept simple, with only the two of us.
as for the first day, dinner was more proper with dishes that i usually have at home during CNY.
abalone with broccoli, and steam chicken with ginger sauce. and red bean soup for dessert.
it took us quite some time to get it done, but everything came out perfect. and it felt like home! :)
♥ 1st day of CNY dinner with LittleLulu ♥
and i guess that's all for CNY this year. nothing else for the rest of the 14 days.
LittleLulu and i might be heading to Manchester's ChinaTown as there will be CNY activities on Sunday.
other than that, i miss my family, KinkyBunny and the girls! wish i was home celebrating CNY with them... <3
